Those of you who have been following me for a while know that I am a wellness and self-care advocate. Being an editor turned influencer, I’ve had the luxury of being able to road test hundreds of lifestyle products over the years. There’s just so much info and so many products out there to review and digest—I think most women these days may not have the time or budget to thoroughly vet them. It’s my job (and I love it) to weed through all this “stuff” and to recommend the top things, to my knowledge, that help me to look and feel my best. Everything is highly curated and I only recommend products and brands that I truly love. I am passionate about sharing these best-kept secrets to help you save time and lead a more enhanced life. I just turned 56 and feel better than I did when I was in my 30’s, so I know first hand that these lifestyle hacks work!
Read on for My Top Tips to Look and Feel 10 Years Younger, including product picks and special discount codes. Many of these products can be found in my Amazon store.

STAY FIT
I do a combo of cardio and weight-bearing exercises and try to walk about 10,000 steps per day! Be sure to stretch, roll, and massage muscles regularly to keep blood flowing into the fascia, and to maintain good circulation.
Fitness Streaming Recommendations: You can sign up for free trials to test out the classes mentioned below and test out which is the best fit for you. The Class, KT Method, Yoga with Pixie (Purposeful Pixie), Lauren Roxburgh, Melissa Wood, NY Times 7 minute workout (this is free and a great one if you have limited time).
Product Recommendations: Bala bangles weights, LoRox foam roller, Theragun, custom yoga mat, Carbon 38 for flattering workout wear. I personally like high-waisted leggings that hit the ankle to elongate the leg.
EAT CLEAN
A diet rich in organic fruits and veggies is so important so I focus on increasing my intake each day. I like to eat wild-caught fish about three times a week, and when eating meat, I make sure it’s organic, grass-fed, and antibiotic-free. I also limit sugar and starchy food, and make sure to eat a high-fiber diet. For weight management, try intermittent fasting—there are several ways to do this (I personally think the 16 hour fast is easiest). My cheat days are usually on weekends because I don’t think it is good to feel deprived, and I love a good pizza and my chocolate too. Also, remember not to drink all your calories!
Product Recommendations: Replace sugar with Lakanto monk fruit sweetener (use code Glowgirl15 for 15% off), meat from Butcher Box (grass-fed, antibiotic-free), Hush and Hush PlantYourDay chocolate protein powder which also contains probiotics, and 17 grams of protein (use code MELISSA for 20% off). Add additional fiber with Anthony’s inulin powder. Sakara Life has a great vegetarian eating plan to get back on track. Weight Watchers also makes a useful app where you can assign points to the foods you eat and lose weight without feeling limited. It’s all about balance and making good choices! For more information on fasting, read Fast Feast Repeat, by Gin Stephens.
MAINTAIN AND NURTURE (BROWS + LASHES TOO)
As we get older, our hair starts to thin and lose its luster. The same applies to your brows and lashes too. Some of this is genetic but there are ways to help all of your hair stay healthy and in good condition. A great volumizing or moisturizing shampoo and conditioner along with certain supplements and serums can help you keep your mane look thicker, shinier, and more hydrated.
Product Recommendations + Clean Hair Product Faves: Any of the hair care products by Innersense are amazing. Gloss Moderne is an incredible luxury hair care line, Christophe Robin hair products for color-treated hair is fabulous. I also love Native shampoo and conditioner—they are new to the market and sold at Target. I use Neu Lash growth serum for brows and lashes, VIVI Root 66 serum for fuller hair, and take DeeplyRooted supplements by Hush and Hush to maintain my overall hair health (use code MELISSA for 20% off). I also love this hair spray by Virtue.
WEAR FASHION THAT FLATTERS
Wear fashion that works for your body type. I like to wear looser tops and define my waist by doing a French-tuck (tucking the shirt in the front but not the back). High-waisted denim is very flattering when it has a bit of stretch to it. Go trendy with bags and shoes. Masks are here to stay for a while, so why not make them fashionable? See my Face Masks 2.0 blog for great mask ideas. For the best fashion advice, follow Who What Wear to stay on top of the trends whatever your age.
Product Recommendations: Everyone should have a good pair of denim in their wardrobe. My favorite denim these days are these by Agolde and these by Mother. For trendy shoes, check out the newest chain loafers and lug sole boots by Ganni. Or if you want to stay classic, I love the sustainable shoe line by Aera New York. Smaller cross-body bags look great and are easier on the back. These fun mini bags by Bandolier can be purchased with or without the iPhone case attachment. If you are looking for the most fashionable readers, I love the ones by Peepers and Caddis.
Sustainable Fashion: shoes by Aera New York, bags by Angela Roi, Yes And, BioRomper for an antibacterial jumpsuit, Boyish
USE NONTOXIC MAKEUP
Switch your makeup to clean, non-toxic products. Think Dirty is a great app to see the toxicity levels of your beauty and skincare products. The best way to subtract a few years from our face is if you even out your skin tone cover dark circles, fill in your brows, use a light coat of mascara on top of lashes, highlight to define cheekbones, and add some color to the apples of your cheeks. Finishing off your look with a CBD gloss is always a good idea. And, remember your sunscreen! I like to wear a good tinted moisturizer that contains sunscreen.
Product Recommendations: RMS cover up, Ere Perez brow pencil and mascara, Westman Atelier highlighter or Merit highlighter, Ilia multi stick, Saint Jane lip gloss. W3LL People has a natural eye palette that is gorgeous on any skin tone, clean, and reasonably priced. Saie Beauty slip tinted moisturizer, and Coola BB cream are always on my shelf.
NOURISH SKIN FROM HEAD TO TOE
My grandma used to say, “when you moisturize from head to toe, you will always have the glow.” This was some of the best advice—since then, I’ve never missed a day! It’s important to keep the skin hydrated and moisturize daily using non-toxic products. Exfoliation is also key to regenerate a fresh layer of skin and I like to do this 2-3 times a week. I always wash off makeup before bed and brush my teeth with natural toothpaste. I like to use tools like a gua sha and rose quartz roller to apply oils and massage the fascia in my face. This boosts circulation and will help restore a natural glow too!
Face Product Recommendations: Furtuna luxury face oil, Tula exfoliation scrub, Nama Fiji Eye Cream, Kora Organics milky mushroom cleanser (brand new and very gentle on the skin), Nama Fiji Cleanser, Kora Organics eye oil, Soma Aruvedics Vitamin C serum, ESPA skincare, GoopGenes moisturizer and GoopGenes eye cream. Angela Caglia moisturizer and Barbara Sturm moisturizer, MDO by Dr. Simon Ourian, Gua Sha tool by Kora Organics for circulation, Beautystat universal moisture essence, Juice Beauty stem cellular. To help regenerate collagen, try using the DIY Sdara micro-needling tool and serums. Pay attention to your teeth—I use fluoride-free toothpaste by Lebon. This French company makes so many fabulous flavors to choose from.
Body Product Recommendations: Dermasuri exfoliation glove, Necessaire body moisturizer and body wash. Native natural deodorant or Primally Pure natural deodorant (use code GLOWGIRL for 10% off). Winged CBD Body oil (use code Glowgirl15 for 15% off) and Kora Organics body oil. Whish hand cream and cuticle oil and CBD + Nature body scrub are some current faves!
TAKE SUPPLEMENTS (INCLUDING ADAPTOGENS AND CBD)
I personally like to take specific supplements daily and believe they have made a huge difference and impact on my overall health and wellbeing. I take vitamin D, B, a probiotic, NAC, Omega 3, TruNiagen or NiaCel 200 every day! For your reference, you can check out my full list of favorites here. I highly recommend going to a functional medicine doctor to find out which nutrients and minerals may be missing in your system. They will recommend a personalized supplement plan for you.
I also use CBD in various forms from tinctures, to gummies, powders for pain and stress relief. To see a full list of CBD products, check out the CBD Glow Girl Certified list and my recent blog on The Best in CBD.
My Product Recommendations: Ora Trust your Gut probiotic, Tru Niagen for energy, Vitamin B, Vitamin d, NAC (Thorne brand), SkinTē Sparkling Collagen Teas (Use code GLOWGIRL30. Code is valid for 30% off 12-pack purchases), Nordic Naturals Algae Omega supplement. I take Relizen Bonafide for hot flashes (use code GLOWGIRL20 for 20% off the first month’s subscription) and Femmenessence for menopausal hormonal imbalance. I love and am obsessed with Om Mushroom superfood adaptogens—they make powdered coffees, hot chocolate, and energy drinks that are delicious (use discount code MELISSAMEYERS for 20% off). Beauty Bar chocolate is made with adaptogens and supplements plus it’s sweetened with organic Lakanto monk fruit so contains zero sugar (use code GLOWGIRL10 for 10% off). Hilma makes a great Elderberry Immune Support Gummy (use discount code MELISSA20 20% off first orders). I also take a fatty acid supplement by Fatty15.
*Please do your homework before introducing anything new into your regimen. Research and talk to your physician if you are unsure of what is best for you.
SLEEP WELL
Try your best to get eight hours of uninterrupted sleep every night (I know it can be challenging). Set the stage for this by taking a bath before bed, put away your phone, and close your computer 30 minutes before bedtime. Blue light from technology (phone, computer, TV) can interrupt the body’s melatonin production and ruin a good night’s sleep. I find it’s best to watch a movie, Netflix show, or read a good book at least one hour before bed to unwind from the day.
Product Recommendations: Voyage Et Cie lavender candles, Vertly CBD bath salts, Winged CBD sleep gummies (use code Glowgirl15 for 15% off), This Works pillow spray, try sleeping with a weighted blanket, use a silk sleep mask or pillowcase, Olly sleep gummies.
Netflix and Series Recos: The Queen’s Gambit, Emily in Paris, Call My Agent, Succession, Ted Lasso, Bridgerton
GET REST AND REJUVENATE
It’s important to take time for yourself, and time away from work just to enjoy. Carve out time and put it in your schedule like you do a meeting. Your brain needs a break! Watch your favorite reality TV show, call or zoom with friends and family, read a magazine, listen to music, podcasts or audiobooks. I like to sit by the fire, hang by the pool and stay in bed later on weekends too!
Product Recommendations: Winged relaxation gummies (great to manage anxiety too - use code Glowgirl15 for 15% off), Sunday Citizen meditation pillow (use code 1MELISSA15 for 15% off). Books: 5 Second Rule by Mel Robbins, The One Thing by Gary Keller, The New Rules Of Aging Well by Frank Lipman
Podcast Recos: Second Life, Oprah Super Soul Series, Mind Body Green, Goop, Hot Flashes and Cool Topics
PRACTICE SELF-CARE + MINDFULNESS
Practicing self-care and self-love is anything but selfish. I like to connect with nature, meditate, practice box breathing, take baths, and use essential oils on my body and in my home. Aromatherapy is important to me so I incorporate this into my daily routine by using a diffuser, lighting candles, or burning Palo Santo. I also like to have crystals for energy in my living space (and even carry some with me). Try writing in a gratitude journal each day because practicing gratitude is a big part of self-care. If you prefer an app to count your blessings, the Five-Minute Journal is a good one to check out!
Product Recommendations: Voyage Et Cie candles (my favorite scents are Malibu, Vanilla, Jerusalem), Urban and Mystic for crystal therapy, Palo Santo energy cleansing, Sage Lifestyle perfumes for aromatherapy, ESPA bath oil, favorite journal, Highline Wellness bath bombs, bamboo bath tray, Vitruvi diffuser, Chok Chok face mask (use code MELISSA40 for 40% off).
