I’ve always been a denim lover and like to embrace the latest trends as long as the pieces are well-fitting and flattering. These days, I’m giving my skinny jeans a rest and embracing more current styles with a looser, more relaxed fit. In search for the best denim, I look for comfort, fit, and style. After trying on tons of brands and cuts, I narrowed down my favorite denim styles from jeans to skirts to jackets to help you easily curate your own looks!

1. High-waisted, loose-fitting, wide-leg jeans
As I give my skinny, fitted jeans a rest for now, I’m wearing looser-fitting, wide leg jeans now for a more modern denim look. I love pairing looser jeans with a half-tucked shirt or a cropped or fitted look on top for balance to define my waistline. There are so many great styles at various price points, you really can’t go wrong with this trend.

2. Denim midi skirts
Lately, I’ve been loving a longer denim skirt as a jean alternative. This one from Mango has a front slit that feels feminine yet rugged. I’ve been sporting it with cowboy boots, a crossbody bag, and a cropped leather jacket to complete the look. Perfect casual chic outfit for fall days.

3. Black, straight-leg jeans
I love the look and feel of black denim for an edgier vibe. Paired with fun boots, a tee, and an oversized blazer, black, straight-leg jeans just give such an undeniable statement of cool.

4. Low-waisted (loose) jeans
Low-waisted jeans are a new/old trend, and it’s time to bring them back. Although many of us may not happy to see it return, the looser fit (vs. painted on from the 80’s) is actually quite flattering. These low and loose, distressed jeans by GRLFRND are super stylish and trendy especially when paired with a white t-shirt and cropped statement jacket.

5. Cropped and boxy denim jackets
Denim jackets are always a good idea to have in your closet—it's just about knowing the best styles to keep around. Right now, I’m loving cropped, oversized denim jackets. The shorter length offsets the boxy shape which adds a fresh flare to any OOTD. I also always love to wear a denim-on-denim look, accented with stylish boots and a vintage designer handbag!
